A mechanical Engineer by
qualification has over 35 years’ experience in process scale-up and plant and
machinery development. He served for about 35 years at the CSIR Central Food
Technological Research Institute, Mysore and functioned for 15 years as the
head of Food Engineering Department involving himself in leading o group of
Engineers in development of Plant and machinery. Plant and Machinery include
Evaporation plants, Dehydration plants, Dal Mill machinery, Rice Bran
stabilization plant, Sunflower processing plant, Cashew process plants, Fruit
and vegetable plants, Cold storage's, traditional foods machinery and others. He
was involved in successfully establishing Fruit and vegetable plants, Dal
milling plants, Cattle feed plants, Spice oil and oleoresin plants. He was actively involved in R&D involving
Extraction, Distillation, Evaporation Drying, Centrifugal separation, size
reduction and other operations.
After his
tenure at CFTRI, he involved himself in consultancy projects for industries
like, MTR Foods, US Aid, Karunya
University, Dabur Nepal Private Limited, Wyn Products, Bangalore, Alagendra
Edible Oil Industries, Chennai, SIDVIN Machineries, Mysore, Chevron Chemicals,
Mysore, Matha Products, Mysore, My Chocks, Mysore, Mexican Lime Exporters Inc.
and Southern Citrus, Gudur, Gujarat Agro-foods, and several others.
He was functioning as a consultant for many industries and universities.
He has worked as visiting faculty in many universities. He also formulated food
Engineering courses at Karunya University, Coimbatore, University of
Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad and Davanagere University.
